Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific’s most popular weapons and their attachments have been revealed, so we’re counting down the top ten loadouts as of December 16, 2021.

As is standard for Warzone, the meta is constantly changing. The Warzone Pacific update brought in almost 40 new weapons from Call of Duty: Vanguard, and also made some changes to weapons from Modern Warfare and Cold War.

This has caused a major change in certain weapon’s popularity, and thanks to WZRanked.com, we can see Warzone Pacific Season 1’s most popular weapons. So, we’re counting down the top ten, along with the most popular attachments.

Warzone Pacific’s most popular guns & loadouts

10. M4A1 – 2.83%

M4A1 in Call of Duty Warzone

One of the most reliable Assault Rifles in Warzone, it’s no surprise that Modern Warfare’s M4A1 has made it to the top ten.

While it doesn’t excel in any category, the M4A1 is a true jack of all trades. It has solid damage and range, as well as very little recoil. Whether running it as your primary Assault Rifle or alongside the best Sniper Rifles, you simply can’t go wrong with the M4A1.

Most popular M4A1 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Stock M15 Grenadier
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags

9. MAC-10 – 3.34%

Warzone MAC-10 loadout

Boasting an incredibly fast fire rate, rapid TTK, and next to no recoil, the MAC-10 is the obvious choice for a secondary weapon in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

When paired with a long-range Assault Rifle such as the BAR, or a Sniper like the Kar98k, the MAC-10 is the perfect pocket weapon. Even though the MAC-10 has seen a few nerfs over the past few months, it’s still held its place in the top 10 most popular.

Most popular MAC-10 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 5.9″ Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Ammunition: STANAG 53 Rnd Drum

8. Grau 5.56 – 3.42%

Warzone Grau 5.56

When Warzone was first released in March 2020, the Grau 5.56 was king. With almost no recoil and the cleanest Iron Sight the game had to offer, almost every player ran the Grau. Now in Warzone Pacific Season 1, it has avoided the nerfs that have hit other ARs and remained a popular choice.

The majority of Grau users use it as their ‘Fully Loaded’ weapon, which they can take to get full ammo when grabbing a loadout after returning from the Gulag.

Most popular Grau 5.56 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Tempus 26.4″ Archangel
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags
  • Perk: Fully Loaded

7. Cold War AK-47 – 3.75%

Call of Duty Warzone AK-47

Cold War’s AK-47 has long been one of Warzone’s best weapons, and it’s remained among the most popular with Caldera’s arrival.

With controllable recoil and high damage, it’s well worth giving the AK another chance in Warzone Pacific. It’s not the best weapon for close-range fights, but stick to medium-long range and very few players will be able to outgun you.

Most popular Cold War AK-47 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 20″ Spetsnaz RPK Barrel
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Ammunition: 45 Rnd

6. OTs 9 – 4.41%

OTs 9 SMG in Warzone

Although previously underrated, many players have now learned of the OTs 9’s power. Both JGOD and NICKMERCS have sung its praises in the past, and Raven has nerfed it several times.

However, these nerfs haven’t killed its popularity, with the OTs 9 still being among the most popular weapons. It did get nerfed again in the December 9 update, so it may drop off in the future. However, the OTs 9 is still an excellent choice in Caldera.

Most popular OTs 9 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 8.1″ Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
  • Ammunition: VDV 40 Rnd Fast Mag

5. Automaton – 4.49%

Gold Automaton in Call of Duty Warzone

The Automaton dominated the early days of Warzone Pacific Caldera, but it was heavily nerfed on December 15.

It was so popular because it has almost zero recoil, with players not even needing to move the thumbstick to keep it shooting straight. However, the December 15 update decreased its recoil control significantly, so it will no longer be beaming enemies with ease.

It’s still in the top five most popular weapons now, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it drop in the coming days.

Most popular Automaton Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: MX Silencer
  • Barrel: ZAC 600mm BFA
  • Optic: G16 2.5x
  • Stock: Anastasia Padded
  • Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine: 6.5mm Sakura 75 Round Drums
  • Ammunition: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Perk 1: Tight Grip
  • Perk 2: Fully Loaded

4. MP40 – 5.84%

MP40 Warzone Pacific loadout

If you’re looking for a Vanguard SMG to use in either regular battle royale or Vanguard Royale, the MP40 is an excellent choice.

An incredibly popular Vanguard weapon, the MP40 has already been making waves in Warzone. Its minimal recoil and solid damage make it a standout choice for close-range fights, so you won’t ever feel at a disadvantage while using it.

Most popular MP40 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: Mercury Silencer
  • Barrel: Krausnick 317mm 04B
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Krausnick 33M Folding
  • Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled
  • Magazine: 9mm 64 Round Drums
  • Ammunition: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
  • Perk 1: Steady
  • Perk 2: Vital

3. Swiss K31 – 5.92%

Best Warzone Swiss K31 loadout

Raven Software has been hard at work fine-tuning Cold War’s Sniper Rifles in Warzone and now, they seem to have got the Swiss K31 into a great spot. Raven did decrease its flinch resistance on December 9 but then buffed it again on December 15.

Its direct counterpart is Modern Warfare’s Kar98k as they’re both quick and highly versatile snipers. Not much sets the two apart now, and some even prefer the Swiss. Its high bullet velocity means that you hardly need to lead shots, and its magazine gives it a solid reload time compared to the Kar98k.

Most popular Swiss K31 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 24.9″ Combat Recon
  • Laser: SWAT 5mw Laser Sight
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Grip

2. STG44 – 7.75%

STG44 Assault Rifle in Warzone

The STG44 acts similarly to Modern Warfare’s M4A1, being an excellent all-rounder for Caldera.

With the bloom mechanic being removed now, the STG is even more powerful. It might not be the most powerful Assault Rifle in the game but is extremely easy to control, making it effective for players of all skill levels.

Whether it will remain the second most popular weapon is yet to be seen, but it’s hard to go wrong with the STG44 in Warzone Pacific Caldera Season 1.

Most popular STG44 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: MX Silencer
  • Barrel: CDD 760mm 05B
  • Optic: G16 2.5x
  • Stock: VDD 34S Weighted
  • Underbarrel: m1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 8mm Kurz 60 Round Drums
  • Ammunition: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Perk 1: Vital
  • Perk 2: Fully Loaded

1. Modern Warfare Kar98k – 9.38%

Warzone Kar98k loadout

If you’re looking for a fast Sniper Rifle that’s easy to use, Modern Warfare’s Kar98k is the weapon for you. Although technically a Marksman Rifle, this bolt-action WW2 rifle is arguably Warzone’s best sniper.

The Kar98k has a solid ADS speed, and with its high bullet velocity, you’ll find it much easier to use than most other Sniper Rifles. You can effectively quickscope in close-range situations, and by leading your targets, hit some nasty longshots.

The Kar98k is the better choice for controller players, as YouTuber TrueGameData discovered that it has more aim assist than the Swiss. Even though a bizarre glitch has Vanguard’s Kar98k semi-automatic, you should still use the Modern Warfare version if you’re looking to stick to the meta.

Most popular Kar98k Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6″ Barrel
  • Laser: Tac Laser
  • Optic: Sniper Scope
  • Stock: FTAC Sport Comb

If you’re yet to use any of these weapons in Caldera and Rebirth Island, give them a try with these attachments.

FaZe Swagg reveals “overpowered” Warzone Pacific Welgun loadout

FaZe Swagg has revealed the perfect loadout attachments to make the brand-new Welgun SMG “overpowered” in Season 1.

FaZe Swagg with Warzone Welgun SMG

FaZe star Kris ‘Swagg’ Lamberson tested out Warzone’s brand-new Welgun SMG, calling it “top-tier” and building an “overpowered” loadout for it.

Warzone Pacific’s mid-Season 1 update brought a ton of buffs and nerfs to fan-favorite weapons, but it also brought the new Welgun SMG.

The Gunsmith system allows the Welgun to be built for a number of different playstyles, and top streamer FaZe Swagg has revealed how to make it “overpowered” with the right loadout attachments.

Best Warzone Welgun loadout

Warzone’s meta received a significant shake-up with Warzone Season 1’s midseason update, with the popular STG44 getting a healthy buff and the Bren getting taken down a peg.

But the one weapon standing out is the brand-new Welgun. In a YouTube video titled “The new Welgun SMG is overpowered in Warzone,” FaZe Swagg explains why.

Using the Welgun along with the STG, Swagg dropped 30 kills, helping his squad rack up over a hundred kills in Caldera. “This gun is top-tier, no question,” explained Swagg. “And overall, 100% you should unlock it.”

Swagg said the Welgun “melts with the right build,” so we’ve got his full class set up below.

FaZe Swagg “overpowered” Welgun loadout

Swagg’s YouTube video doesn’t reveal his full Welgun loadout, so here are the attachments he was running during his January 13 stream.

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: 120mm Gawain Short
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Removed Stock
  • Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 48 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Hollow Point
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Perk 1: Unmarked
  • Perk 2: Fully Loaded

Swagg boosted the Welgun’s fire rate by combining the Recoil Booster and 120mm Gawain Short barrel, allowing it to kill enemies much faster. And he discovered that running iron sights gives you a reflex, so he opted for the Slate Reflector instead.

For magazine and ammo, Swagg ran the 7.62 Gorenko 48 Round Mags to hold extra bullets and the Hollow Point ammunition which increases the damage dealt to limbs, making it much more forgiving.

The rest of the attachments are to improve the Welgun’s mobility and accuracy, with the Unmarked Perk which helps to conceal your position on the mini map.

CoD devs respond to frustrations over performance in Warzone & Vanguard

The Warzone and Vanguard devs have officially responded to the abundance of issues with a statement to the community.

call of duty vanguard & warzone

Call of Duty issued a response to all the performance issues players are currently experiencing in both Warzone and Vanguard.

Along with the mid-season update for Warzone and Vanguard, which introduced loads of new content such as the Welgun and a variety of buffs and nerfs, the devs have now issued a detailed response to the community’s frustrations.

There have been a lot of issues in Warzone and Vanguard since the two games were linked, but it’s great to actually get some detailed communication from the devs in response to the issues that players have been experiencing.

Here’s what they had to say.

Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 1

In Call of Duty‘s latest tweet titled “A message to our community,” the developers conveyed just how hard the team is working at providing fixes to a variety of issues.

The post contained details of the latest implemented changes and known issues being worked on for both Warzone and Vanguard.

In the short message, the developers make it clear that the team is “hard at work addressing the issues that are being experienced across Vanguard, Warzone, and Modern Warfare. Updates are being deployed as quickly as possible.”

When it comes to Warzone some of the issues mentioned as ones that they are working on include:

  • Console performance
  • Invisible skins
  • Buy Stations

These issues, especially the Buy Station freezing problems and console performance have been at the center of recent player frustrations in the community.

Just this week players were clowning the number of issues on console, so it’s great to get confirmation that the devs are working on fixes.

As for Vanguard, there have been quite a few issues that players have been disappointed with, especially as recent updates haven’t exactly eased player frustrations with Incendiary Grenades.

The post mentioned an abundance of issues that the dev team is working on:

  • Weapons & Equipment
    • Shotgun nerfs and smoke reduction.
  • Killstreaks
    • Attack Dog fixes.
  • Perks
  • Modes
    • Accuracy of Quick Play filters and diversity of maps.
  • Matchmaking
    • Party-disconnect issue
  • Zombies

It’s clear that the Call of Duty developers are working on having better communication with the players. This is definitely a step towards that, but up next is for these updates to be complete.

We’ll be sure to update the community on when these fixes have been issued. For now, check out why players are praising Warzone’s latest playlist update.

Warzone devs secretly changed a Perk and nobody noticed

The Warzone devs made a slight change to one of the Perks, which almost went completely unnoticed until players recently picked up on it.

Players have picked up on a change to one of Warzone’s Perks that barely anyone noticed, which some are stating is due to the stale Perk meta.

With the mid-season update for Warzone Pacific Season 1, you’d think players would be focussing on the new content such as the Welgun SMG, playlist changes, and buffs and nerfs.

However, players have picked up on a change to one of Warzone’s Perks that went completely unnoticed since the Vanguard integration, which may not be a surprise to players when they find out what Perk it is.

warzone perk 3 spotter

Reddit user Cream-Shpee highlighted the Perk change over on the Warzone subreddit with the title: “The Perks meta is so stale nobody’s even noticed that Spotter got renamed.”

Spotter, now named Engineer, isn’t the most popular of Perks in Warzone, especially as the Perk 3 category is dominated by Amped and Combat Scout. This is most likely the reason players haven’t noticed the name change, or as the Redditor puts it, players didn’t notice because the “Perks meta is so stale.”

Although it isn’t a massive difference, it’s still pretty hilarious that not many players actually realized the name had been changed.

One player agrees with the Perk meta being stale, stating “I reckon you could remove 70% of the perks and no one would even notice.”

It’s a shame that some Perks hardly get picked, as most of them actually offer some interesting gameplay changes. However, it’s difficult to pick Perks that just aren’t as strong as the ones everybody else in the lobby is using.

Perhaps we will see some changes to Perks in Warzone Pacific’s future to spice up the meta.
