Ultimate Team’s Team of the Year promo is one of the most anticipated events of FIFA 22. The top footballers of the past year are honored as players vote for their favorite TOTY nominees in FIFA 22.
Team of the Year highlights the best Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders, and Attackers in an eleven-man squad. However, players can also expect 5-6 additional cards in the honorable mentions category.
The competition was stiff this year as 2021’s top performers stepped up their game. Let’s take a look at some of the players expected to be involved in the TOTY promo as well as how to vote for TOTY nominees.

When is the FIFA 22 TOTY release date?
Players should expect this highly-anticipated promo a few weeks into the new year. In FIFA 21, this particular promo was available as of January 22, 2021. What with EA’s tendency to release promos on Friday, January 21, 2022, is a great date to circle on your calendar but players can vote for the TOTY as of Monday, January 10.
As is the norm with most promos players can expect to get their hands on these coveted cards at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT / 7 PM CET.
What is Team of the Year?
TOTY is a compilation of footballers who performed the best throughout 2021. Unlike Team of the Season that uses a club season as the criteria, this promo uses the calendar year to judge the top performers.
EA Sports typically chooses a squad of eleven players that fit into a 4-3-3 formation. Although, there is some flexibility when it comes to the way players fit into the formation. All players can expect a stat boost that will take their overall into the 90s.
Interestingly enough, this promo is decided by FUT players through a vote. You’ll get to decide which superstars are included in this year’s iteration of the Team of the Year. We’ll keep you posted when voting opens to FIFA 22 players.
FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees
The criteria for selecting the TOTY is heavily influenced by trophy-winners. Most of the players on this list will have won a competition by the time 2021 comes to a close.
For example, Jorginho isn’t known as the flashiest footballer but his contribution to winning the Champions League with Chelsea and Euro 2020 makes him an undeniable representative.
That’s not to say that players who haven’t won a trophy can’t end up on the TOTY. Someone like Erling Haaland whose individual performances have earned him the praise of football fans around the world has a great chance at making the list.
Here are the Attacker, Midfielder, and Defender nominees for the FIFA 22 TOTY.
The Attackers nominees are led by Robert Lewandowksi who many believed should have won the 2021 Ballon d’Or thanks to his brilliant performances in the Champions League and Bundesliga.
After winning Copa America last summer, Lionel Messi should certainly be involved in the squad.
As previously mentioned, Jorginho’s Euro and Champions League winning year should see him make the TOTY. His Chelsea teammate N’Golo Kanté also has a great shot at making the cut this year.
Expect to see the trend of Premier League players making the TOTY continue when it comes to defenders. After all, Chelsea did win the Champions League and Ruben Dias has looked incredible throughout 2021.
Gianluigi Donnarumma and Edouard Mendy should be the favorites to receive the Goalkeeper spot. However, players must remember that the TOTY is decided by fan vote which means anything can happen when it comes to determining the squad.

FIFA 22 Ultimate Team sniping guide: What is sniping, how to snipe & make coins
Sniping players is an easy way to make coins in FUT, so we’ve made a complete FIFA 22 Ultimate Team sniping guide.
Sniping is an invaluable skill when buying players in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team because it helps keep hold of some of those precious coins. Here’s a full guide on what sniping is, how to do it, and how to use it to make FIFA coins.
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team is all about filling out your team with the best possible players, from clinical strikers to clutch defenders. If you’re lucky, you’ll pull your dream player from a pack, but there’s a good chance you’ll have to tackle the Transfer Market instead.
While every player has a specific value, like any market you can secure a bargain if you put the time into sniping rather than just paying upfront. We’ve put together an in-depth guide on how you can snipe your dream team, and save yourself some coins in the process.

What is sniping in FIFA 22?
Simply put, sniping is the art of bagging a player from the Transfer Market for less than its usual value. This usually requires the user to act quickly and make the purchase seconds after the listing goes live.
Other FUT fans that are looking to sell a player quickly, or perhaps didn’t check the market properly, will occasionally list players for much less than they are usually worth. These are the listings you are on the hunt for.
How to snipe in FIFA 22
- Type the player’s name into the search box in the top-left corner
- Check the market value of the player you want to snipe
- Adjust the Buy Now slider for the most you are aiming to spend
- Hit search and look at the listings
- Quickly try to buy the cheapest player who pops up
- Refresh and repeat
If you’re looking to snipe a specific player, the first thing to do is type their name into the search box on the top-left of the market screen. This means that only listings for that player will show up and you won’t accidentally buy the wrong man.
Then you’ll need to check the actual market value of whoever you’re looking for to get an idea of what sort of price filters you need to set up.
Once you know how much they usually sell for, head to the price filters on the bottom-left tile and adjust the Buy Now slider to slightly less. There isn’t a certain price that guarantees you’ll find a listing, so it’s best to set it for the absolute maximum you would be willing to spend.
From here, it’s just a case of refreshing the market until one pops up so you can move in for the snipe. There are thousands of other snipers who may be trying the same thing, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t win the battle every time.
How to refresh the market quickly
One of the hardest parts of sniping is being the first to get onto the market so you can snatch a player before everyone else. If you’re too slow, then you’ll find yourself missing out more often than not.
Luckily, EA have provided a way of refreshing the market quickly if you follow this step-by-step guide:
- Set the Buy Now filter to the maximum number of coins you want to spend
- Adjust the Bid Price filter to 15,000,000 – the highest it will go
- Edit the filters to criteria you are looking for
- If no listings, or you lose out, quickly go back to the Bid Price fliter and move it down one
- Hit search again
Carrying out this method each time refreshes the market quicker than simply searching again with the same criteria. It takes practice to get the hang of, but the quicker you can pull it off, the more successful you will be.
How to make FIFA coins through sniping
While sniping is a great way to land a player for your Ultimate Team at a big discount, it’s also a way that savvier FUT fans can make easy coins.
By sniping lots of cards for a lower price, you can then re-list them back on the market for their actual value and net a tidy profit.
This can be a way to make small gains over a long period of time or make big bucks in one swoop if you’re able to snipe a high-value player for a lot less than he’s worth.
If your aim is purely to make coins, consider casting a wider net with your filters instead of looking for a specific card. For example, if French defenders are going up in value, search for all of them rather than just Kounde or Lacroix.
Who to snipe in FIFA 22
If you’re looking to sell cards to earn some coins, it’s best to go for those that are in demand.
That means sniping any players, managers, or consumables that are rare, needed for a Squad Building Challenge, have a high value, or are out of packs.
The market is always changing, but here are some transfer targets to get you started:
- CBs with a high pace stat
- Brazilian mangers
- Hunter Chemistry Style
- Players required for SBCs
- French players
- Silver cards from the top five leagues
Why you’re finding it difficult to snipe in FIFA 22
Even if you get the hang of sniping players, you may notice that they are often snapped before your fingers can react. There are a number of reasons why this could be happening.
The first is your internet connection. If there are multiple snipers all going for the same card at the same time, those with slower internet speeds will always find they come out in second place.
There’s also the issue of other users, especially on PC, bots to buy players automatically. These bits of software quickly snap up listed cards within microseconds of them going live.
Unfortunately, when it comes to snipe bots there isn’t much you can do other than try and hunt for a different card that may not be as obvious.
That was our full FIFA 22 Ultimate Team sniping guide. We’ll keep this page updated throughout the year with more helpful hints and tips when we find them.

Best FIFA 22 camera settings
When you first launch FIFA 22, the game’s cameras will be set to the EA Sports GameCam. While this gives you the same standard view as other players, you can try tipping the odds in your favor.
Here are the options that we recommend :
- Launch FIFA 22
- Visit the Options menu
- Select the “Camera” tab
- Switch both Single Player and Multiplayer Cameras to ‘Tele Broadcast’
- Set ‘Camera Height’ to anything between 10 to 17
- Set ‘Camera Zoom’ to zero
Switching both the Single Player Camera and Multiplayer Camera to the ‘Tele Broadcast’ option will provide you with a better look at the pitch, and the camera height lets you see the field better as well.
Once your overall display has been improved, you can alter the Camera Height and Camera Zoom settings. You can try adjusting these however you’d like until you’re satisfied with the camera settings.
