Apex Legends Season 12 Collection Event leaks: Post-Apocalyptic theme, Crypto Heirloom

Apex Legends Season 12 leaks point towards the next Collection Event having a post-apocalyptic theme and bringing Crypto’s Heirloom.

Although Apex Legends Season 12 isn’t expected until February, leaks indicate its Collection Event will have a post-apocalyptic theme and Crypto’s Heirloom will finally arrive.

Although Crypto has consistently remained one of the lowest-picked Legends in Apex, players are still anxiously waiting for his Heirloom to arrive. These are unique melee weapons that correspond to a specific weapon, and Crypto is now the oldest Legend not to receive one.

But Season 12 leaks are indicating that the next Collection Event will bring Crypto’s Heirloom, as well as a post-apocalyptic theme.

Popular YouTuber Thordan Smash has pieced together a ton of leaks regarding Season 12 and believes the dots connect to reveal a post-apocalyptic theme for the Collection Event.

It’s widely believed that Mad Maggie will be the new Legend for Season 12, and she’s clearly inspired by the Mad Max franchise. Mad Max takes place in a post-apocalyptic Australia, so Thordan Smash believes it’s likely she’ll bring an apocalyptic theme to Apex Legends Season 12.

Apex Legends data miner Biast12 has accurately leaked a ton of details, and said all the way back in April 2021 that “Cryptos Heirloom Collection Event has a post apocalypse theme.”

If Mad Maggie does bring a post-apocalyptic theme to Apex Legends Season 12’s Collection Event, then it’s very likely that Crypto’s Heirloom will also arrive.

Crypto is the longest-existing Legends to still not have an Heirloom but many believe it will arrive in the Season 12 Collection Event, and new evidence makes this more and more likely.

Biast12 leaked Crypto’s Heirloom all the way back in April, saying that it will be a jikdo, a straight Korean sword. More recently, the jikdo’s model and animations were leaked, which has led many to believe it will arrive with Season 12.

It’s been leaked that Crypto’s Heirloom will bring a post-apocalyptic theme with it, and all signs are pointing towards Season 12 having this theme. This, alongside the recent leaks, make it increasingly likely that Crypto’s Heirloom will arrive in the next Collection Event.

These are just leaks and theories, so there’s far from any guarantee that the next Collection Event will have a post-apocalyptic theme. Season 12 is still weeks away, which puts the Collection Event even further, as they usually arrive around six weeks into the season.

Apex Legends fan spots “Smart Pistol” in latest cinematic

Apex Legends players have found a new model for the “Smart Pistol” from Titanfall, suggesting it may make its way into the Apex Games.

Respawn Entertainment recently dropped a brand new cinematic concerning Bangalore’s backstory, which may have actually revealed a new weapon coming to Apex Legends in the future.

Respawn Entertainment has consistently been putting out new content for players every new Apex Legends season. The past few seasons have introduced new weapons to the game, including the Bocek Bow, Rampage LMG, and the latest addition, the C.A.R SMG.

Despite one of these weapons doing more harm than ingenuity in the current state of the game, players are excited to see these new weapons enter the game.

In fact, a lot of these new weapons are often teased in trailers and dev streams prior to their release, and the recent Stories from the Outlands cinematic may have teased another.

Apex Legends has been going through a pretty dry second half of Season 11. Having said that, Respawn Entertainment decided to drop a new Stories from the Outlands cinematic over on their YouTube to give those who are invested in the game’s lore something to investigate.

These cinematics often provide interesting information about various Legends’ lore, as well as teasing future content.

One Reddit user has highlighted a part of the new cinematic that’s teasing a new model of the “Smart Pistol” from the Titanfall series.

This would make a lot of sense considering a lot of the new weapons that have entered the game over the past seasons have come from Respawn’s previous FPS game.

Some in the comments are even stating that the Smart Pistol could work as an ability for “a pilot characters ultimate,” perhaps Blisk.

As this is simply just a cinematic set during Bangalore’s experience during the Titanfall war, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt, as the devs have previously stated that the Smart Pistol wasn’t making its way into the game.

Having said that, you never know, it could return in the future as part of a new Legend’s kit.

Apex Legends devs respond to frustrating glitch that gives Rampage infinite charge

Apex Legends devs are working on a fix for the Rampage unlimited charge glitch, and may punish players who abused it.

Apex Legends player charging the Rampage

Apex Legends devs have finally responded to an annoying glitch that was giving the Rampage and Sentinel unlimited charge, confirming a fix is on the way, and threatening those who use it with a ban.

The Rampage LMG and Sentinel are two of the best weapons in Apex Legends, and with good attachments, these guns can become incredibly powerful in the right hands.

Unfortunately, in early December players found an exploit that allowed both weapons to carry infinite charge, removing the need to scour for Thermite Grenades or Shield Cells to boost their stats. This glitch quickly became popular, with many using it to dominate enemies.

While the devs have already attempted to fix it once, the issue is still happening. Now, Respawn Entertainment have confirmed they are looking into it once again and may punish those who have been exploiting it.

Rampage LMG in Apex Legends

In a tweet on January 4, Respawn Producer Josh Medina confirmed that the team behind Apex Legends were back at work after the Christmas break, and were already working on a fix for this exploit.

This will hopefully mean that a patch to address this isn’t far away, although the developer didn’t give a possible release date.

On top of that, Live Balance Designer John Larson suggested that the team may look to take action against players who used the exploit.

“Infinite charge Rampage and Sentinel go hard, but in a way less fun way,” he tweeted. “While I don’t personally carry a banhammer, I’ll see what I can do…”

With so many players abusing this glitch, especially in Ranked, it may prove difficult to ban players for using it, as you may end up punishing a significant section of the game’s player base.

Regardless, it at least seems like Respawn are determined to fix the glitch, and hopefully, it will arrive in-game soon. In the meantime, make sure you’re using the best Apex Legends characters, and get the best settings for high FPS.

Brilliant Apex Legends trick is perfect for breaking Pathfinder’s Zipline

This clever Apex Legend trick lets you break Pathfinder’s Zipline, preventing enemy players from using it against you.

Pathfinder Zipline in apex legends

Pathfinder’s ultimate Zipline ability lets Apex Legends players get across the map, but it also leaves a pathway open for enemies to follow them. However, there’s a simple trick that can counter this.

There are 19 different characters that you can play as in Apex Legends. Each of these Legends come with their own unique set of abilities that are useful for a variety of gameplay scenarios.

Pathfinder’s ultimate ability is a Zipline that lets him cover a lot of ground quickly. However, the downside is that enemies can also use this to follow the Legend across the map and then eliminate him.

Luckily, there’s a trick that can be used to counter this.

Apex Legends trick to break Pathfinder’s Zipline

Pathfinder grapple in Apex Legends

This tactic was highlighted by Reddit user ‘Uhcoustic’ in the Apex Legends subreddit. It involves placing the Zipline in a way that breaks it after you and your and team have safely crossed it.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Use Pathfinder’s Zipline ultimate ability
  2. Place one nod in the way of a door’s path by aiming at a doorframe
  3. Swing the door over the ability to destroy the Zipline

This clever placement ensures that the Zipline can’t be used by your opponents against you. You and your team will be able to get across the map without being followed closely by enemy players.

This tactic isn’t restricted to just doorways either. You can achieve the same effect by placing Pathfinder’s ultimate Zipline ability on a moving platform or a sealed supply bin before going across.

Other players have even found other methods to get this done. “You can start near a door or just outside a door then go to where you need to be and use [Crypto’s drone] to close/open the door and destroy the zip,” wrote one user.

You can use this trick to eliminate the biggest point of vulnerability in Pathfinder’s ultimate ability. So, be sure to try it out for yourself the next time you and your team are using the Zipline to cross the map.
